    '65 Fuel Injection baseplate question

I am supposed to know this but forgot. Typically the 57 to 65 base plates aka intake manifolds are dated on the bottom side where the oil hits them.

The word is typical. How would an "educated" judge treat this scenorio? Baseplate has two dates on it. One of top and one on the bottom.
    Bottom date: 2-2-64.
Date on top next to the casting number: 2-2-65!!!
So guru's how would you handle this on the judging floor? John

Doc Mike, Date is embossed. You know how the engine casting date of an engine looks like. Well this date on the intake is the same set up. Numbers sitting on top of "label tape" idea. I have seen a half a dozen over the years. In 1990 a customer sent me his 65 to restore and told me his car came with the same exact baseplate date as mine. I have also seen NOS baseplates with two dates.
But have never heard any imput on how they judge.

john: never knowingly judged a base plate with embossed casting date on top side. since your known examples are located in the middle of the baseplate i doubt i'd ever pick up the fact that there was a date there. as small as peckerhead is, we could have him crawl between plenum and baseplate. what ya the ink they represent, over the counter purchases? regards, mike
