I want to upgrade condition of my interior rear view mirror. The car has one stamped "GUIDE" and rivets on the back, without a date code on the front. If I am reading the judging manual correctly this roadster should be equiped with one that has a chrome plated frame without rivets or "GUIDE" stamping on the back. It should have a date code preceding car production in the lower right corner of the glass. Before I spend the bucks on a NOS mirror would you please advise on this? Thanks very much. Michael K.

Re: Late 1964 interior mirror type info please.
Please do NOT change anything on the inside mirror to conform to the rantings on such topic in the new "6th Edition" JG. Please note that ABSOLUTELY NOTHING is provided as a basis for the changes made in that area.- Top

Thanks Loren, so you suggest I stay with a riveted "GUIDE" stamped mirror without date code? Thanks again, mk- Top

Re: Late 1964 interior mirror type info please.
Michael - Please note that the 1964 Corvette AIM, 1 ASSEMBLY, SHEET A5.00, Item 9 calls out 2 part numbers, 910435 & 3849571. So, 2 interior rearview mirrors were available & either one could have been installed in Production. If I were a betting man, I'd say both of the interior rearview mirrors listed are standard rearview mirrors & one was a dated mirror manufactured by DMI & the other was an undated mirror manufactured by GUIDE. A Chevrolet Parts & Accessories Catalog I have list the 910435 (Group # 10.186) with various applications including 63-66 CORVETTE.......inside (chrome)(head) & based on experience I would expect this to be a GUIDE mirror with GUIDE stamped on the back & 2 rivets on the back & no date code on the glass. So, as Loren indicated don't change it. Pete- Top
