    C2 Cluster Paint

I'm helping a friend restore his 65 cluster. There is a good deal of surface rust on the parts that the gauges attach to. This is the area that is painted that light greenish blue color.

Does anyone have a source for this paint in a spray can?

    Thanks

    Harry,
I took that piece to the art store and got a little spray can of a color that was close but not exact. Can't remember the color name but they had a lot of choices.

John, thanks. Also, there are 5 cardboard tubes in the cluster. Three of them have a rubber piece that slides on the end. He did not write down how they fit. Does the rubber mount against the greenish paint side or the other way round?

      Thanks

        Sorry Harry, cant remember.
Joe ray could probably tell you. My memory is the tubes contact the high beam indicator, brake warning, green lenses for the blinker light on one end and the speedo/tack cover on the other. Don't recall the rubber tubes or where they're supposed to be.

John, I found a closeup of the back of a 65 cluster on ebay, I now know how they fit. I also sent you an email about the paint.

          Cheers

Hi Harry, Good seeing you last week in chilly FL.....

If you can't reach Joe, try Bill Harrison at harrisonspeedometer.com down here in Jupiter, FL as he also knows all about those paints. Give him a call and he'll give you the answer. He restored a 56/57 small gauge set for me last year after I had the backs replated and he used the 2 green colors, dark & light, and they came out perfect like originals. I was there and he showed me the rattle cans he used but I didn't write them down.

p.s. pics of a '67 cluster I repaired(greasy speedo from overlubrication) & cleaned up for a buddy in your neck of the woods in Sunapee, NH a few weeks ago. Shows the rubber tube seals.

It's a Krylon color.....Catalina Blue or something like it.....if you have a Michael's supply store, they have all the odd Krylon colors. Many art supply stores have Krylon.
