    68/69 Goodyear Speedways

I did a search of the forum for this and was quite surprised I didn't get any hits. I find it hard to believe this hasn't been discussed before. The following is quoted from one of the reproduction tire vendor's web site:

"N/F – This designation used by Goodyear in ’68 and ’69 only. N/F means “non flat spotting”. This pertained to the type of nylon fabric used in these tires and is so contained in the construction statement of the tires to be used for authentic ’68 and ’69 Corvette restoration."

There is nothing mentioned about this in the 68/69 TIM&JG. Should original Goodyear Speedway Wide Treads have the "NF" designation on the sidewall?

IMHO. The repo Goodyear's from Kelsey are far from looking like an original tire that was manufactured for my 68. For the price, they should be a little bit more original like.

        Floyd,

Did you see the NOS Goodyear redlines I had on my car in Kissimmee? They were all NF rated.

          Gary,

Unfortunately I tried to pack too much into those two days (as always) and didn't get look your car over like I wanted. I needed to get pix of several details on your car but missed the opportunity. Thanx for the information. I think I know what I need to know. I'm about to buy a set (+spare) of original tires. Kur-Ching!!!
