Photo of autographed glove box door- Louisiana meet (in Restorer magazine) ??

This is a wild question, but i recently made contact with the original purchaser of my 1963 split window. One question he asked was, "is the Zora Duntov autographed glove box door still on it? Of course it wasnt.

Anyway, I've been looking to see if I could find info on this item. I just received my Winter 2014 Corvette Restorer magazine and on page 26 is a picture of such a door, along with other autographs. It was taken at the Louisiana judging meet.

I'd love to contact the owner of this item and see if they have any history.

Anyone know anything about who took the photo or who owns the door?

Obviously it isn't installed on a car.....so it grew legs....Nice door...I would kill to have something like that....I have 2 Zora autographed Air cleaner lids.....one is just him and one is him and Larry Shinoda....but that looks cool as heck on a glove box door....ARA....some members may chime in...who knows...ARA

That would be fantastic to have, I have dozens of things like that signed by Carroll Shelby, but have seen just a few signed by Zora.

I had Shinoda sign my '63 owners manual from a roadster I had many years ago (wish I still had that).

As supercool as this would be, I'm more interested in it because it's very possible it was the actual original door off my car that Zora signed for the original owner at an event. Love to know any background on this.

Steve...the photo was taken by Rod Markovits, the photographer for the Louisiana Chapter that was at the meet...he was kind enough to share his photos and I used some of them in the layout...sorry I can't help more...but perhaps someone from the chapter or someone who was at the meet might happen to be here and let you know. Suggest you try to contact someone from the Louisiana chapter. The contact info is at the top of the page under contacts...

Check your email, I sent his contact info to you.

Years ago at Carisle you use to see all kinds of stuff that was signed by Zora either on cars or things for sale. But it's been years since I have seen any of it up there.

It been known that some Shelby signatures are fake, wonder if anyone came across fake Zora Signatures. E bay especially is a place buyers are fooled with such stuff.

It's even more interesting than that. Shelby's estate has authorized an "auto pen" reproduction of Carroll's signature that is still being sold for items with proceeds going to Carroll's children's kidney and heart foundation, as before. So more and more of these "reproductions" will be out there.
