    1957 Heater Motor

    Doing alittle house cleaning and discovered the heater motor speed has a very high speed verus a very low speed. Is there a significant difference between the high and low speed? thanks four your imput.

    Jerry, Lack of motor lubrication may make it seem slower than normal on the low speed. But in your case it may be normal.

    The problem with these motors is that it has to be completely disassembled to lubricate, Sometimes in the process of taking them apart they can be damaged. The squirrel cage can be seized on the shaft, or the armature can be seized in the commutator end bearing. Be careful if you take it apart.
