Re: How many 1970 cars were painted 979 Bridgehampton Blue?
Siegfried, the Black Book only has estimates based on a sample of cars listed in 1970corvetteregistry.com, I believe. That site lists 154 of 1660 registered cars were Bridgehampton Blue, or 9.3%. I tried to submit my data to that registry and have had no reponse for several weeks now. If you look at the registry web page, it looks like it has not been updated since 2010.
There are other C3 registries, though. The best source I've found for 1970 car data is c3registry.com. Go to the 1970 pull down in the top left to get a listing of the 2330 or so '70 cars registered. They do not compile stats by color though, at least as far as I've found. They do list RPO percentages.- Top

So far we have been unable to get any production numbers for color for 1969 or 1970. We have been told by Chevrolet personnel that none exist and they cite the unusual change to 1970 production in January 1970. Good luck with your search.Terry- Top

Just more evidence that GM really needed what Ford had, a Lois Eminger who squirreled away all the records her bosses never knew she had.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Call me crazy, but I think that person could still be out there. Long shot, but the records could be in some widow's basement... Don't wait for that one in a million discovery of records though. If we could get everyone with a 1970 to fill in a registry entry, we'd have a great information tool!

I've spoken to Mike Antonick, author of the Black Book, and he's adamant about GM not having records for '69 & '70 (as Terry stated). Running an average on the C3Registy probably will get you the best estimate.
I too have a '70 Bridgehamton Blue coupe - not crazy about the color - but it's better than not having a '70 Corvette!! (IMO - as a color BHB just doesn't show-off the lines of the car like other colors - and shows dirt & imperfections easily).- Top

After years of searching for the right Bridgehampton or Mulsanne Blue 1970 454, I settled for a Cortez Silver '70 that had everything else I wanted. I've grown to love the silver, but my 1st love is still the blue. I've heard that the darker colors show the C3's imperfections more. One thing about silver however, is that the chrome can get lost a bit, especially in brighter light. Love your blue cars though!
I love the colour blue on a Corvette. My '70 LS-5 (sold 2012 to a previous owner).Attached Files- Top
