Choke stove mounting screw - thread pitch?

I have to replace the choke stove mounting screw on the orange 72. The replacement installed last year came out and if I recall it didn't fit that well anyway.
Does anyone happen to know what thread pitch was originally used here? I'd like to buy a fastener locally and not pay $15 shipping to a catalog company.

See photo below for the screw location.

It's 10-24. I use STAINLESS phillips button head.

I just cleaned my choke stove. Mine looked just like yours. WD40 and a brass brush and it looks like new. Give it a try.

This is a "pre" photo. The original screw's head rounded off, thus the problem. We got it out at the time but didn't have an exact replacement.
I suspect I may have to Heli-Coil it too, but we will see.

A VERY common problem with this screw. Use high temp anti-seize.

Rather than use the WD40/brass brush de-rust procedure go grab a bottle of Evaporust. It'll remove the rust and leave the original finish on the metal with no scratches or scuffs.

Still too late for this particular fastener.
It doesn't take much for the grooves in the Phillips head of this screw to wear away due to heat and humidity, and become useless.

These screws are quite soft (although they do harden up quite a bit due to heat). Combine that with using the wrong size phillips head screw driver and one will almost always get the undesired result. By the way, the wrong size phillips head screwdriver can usually apparently fit, but that doesn't mean it's the right size. That's one of the benefits of torx, hex and clutch head----only the right size will fit.

However, to be sure, even with the correct size phillips screwdriver, one will often get a stripped out drive.

Picked up a 10-24x3/4 screw as well as external star washer at the local Ace Hardware. They're zinc plated as no one has stainless ones around.

For mere pennies the choke stove is now in place and the choke functions perfectly.
I started a Corvette today for the first time in 5 months. It was a good day.

Well, the originals were zinc plated steel so, at least, you'll be "more correct". I'd use a dab of high temperature anti-sieze on it.
