I have a partial tank sticker from my 1967 435/J56 conv. Options are readable either by ECL code or printed description IE side mounted exhaust. There is no zone or dealer code as it is missing. I have the NCRS shipping info. Can NCRS verify this tank sticker as original. Don't want to waste my time or theirs if they can only see if it matches the dealer & zone code which I don't have? THANKS KEN I was going to show it to Roy & ask him but never hooked up at the BJ auction.

Re: Document verification service
IIRC, they look at more than zone and dealer #s. Seems like we had that discussion when my '67's was verified. But, you need an answer from Roy directly.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Re: Document verification service
I believe the key number for all this verification of window /tank /shipper /order copies is the 6-digit "Ident. No." which appears upper left on order copy; upper right on car shipper copy; upper right on window sticker. (at least on the '65 thru 7's and maybe C3's, if I'm not mistaken).Last edited by Wayne M.; January 20, 2014, 01:44 PM.- Top

Re: Document verification service
NCRS does not use the dealer and zone number in their verification process. If they can verify the document, that is if the right parts of the sheet are there and their data is complete for that car, they will give you the dealer and zone number. In most cases they can also give you the dealer name and location.
If they do not have your car in the files they will return your money. I first sent my 1970 VIN for the Shipping Data Report. I did this in spite of the fact I bought the car new, and I know full well, with docs, who I bought the car from. All I was after was the build date, and I was pretty sure I knew that too. They had no data for my car. The micro fiche was damaged or non-existant. My money was returned.
A year or so later I got an email telling me they had found partial information on my car, so I sent [a copy of] the window sticker to them. Again my money was refunded because they didn't have enough data in the files to verify the WS.
Don't worry about wasting time; just do it.Terry- Top

Re: Document verification service
I sent the copies. Color blow up & B&W full size with my shipping report. Luckily I did have the left top side but could only make 3 #'s out for sure * maybe 4. Hope it is good enough. I know the sticker is original as it was taken off the tank not long before I bought it 26 years ago. I wish he would have left it on & replaced the gas tank. It wasn't a big deal back in the day. Now everyone believes all 435 67 are fake especially ones with the options it has. 2 tops, side exhaust,J-56 power brakes TI & radio65 350 TI CONV 67 J56 435 CONV,67,390/AIR CONV,70 454/air CONV,

Re: Document verification service
Ken, NCRS couldn't verify the sheet on my '67 400 horse due to the top line being so covered with muck. It is an original piece though. They could verify two documents on my 435; you win some and loose some. I believe with some cleaning the critical numbers on my 400 horse tank sheet will be legible; I have to remove it from its glass case.- Top

Ken,
Scan gray scale at 300 dpi and upload the scanned file when you place your order.

Re: Document verification service
Ken -- I would even go further than Gary's suggestion. I would shoot macro (extreme close-up) with a digital camera (say 6 megapixels or greater) on just the (multiple) areas in question. If you don't have Photoshop (I have an earlier version called the Essentials), email them to me and I will see what I can extract. It's amazing what fooling around with the contrast and brightness can elucidate.- Top
