I'm trying to find a direct knockoff wheel that will fit a 62. There are two makers of the repo 63/64 knock off wheels. They are American Finest Corvettes and Corvette America. Of the two the only wheel that will fit a 62 corvette without rework is the AFC wheel. The problem with the CA wheels is the direct bolt on adapter. It would require machining the inside diameter bigger to clear the 62 hub, since the 62 hub is longer then a 63. The adapter that is used on the AFC wheel is a different design and according to them will fit a 62 without doing any work to it. Anyone have any good or bad information about the AFC wheel. From what I've read the CA wheel is designed closer to the original KO's but since I will be installing them on a 62, I have no problem with the design being off. I just wonder if the wheels are of good quality and if AFC, after they get the money, will response to calls and emails should a problem arise.

Re: Direct bolt on Knock off wheel by American Finest Corvettes
I didn't know the 62 hub was longer than a 63--I thought that it had a slightly larger diameter. I had an extra pair of front hubs machined so they would accept some Ansen Apollo knockoffs from the mid-60's. That worked quite well for my purposes, and I think it would for you, too. Let me know if it would and if you need some hubs.- Top
