My '09 - Z06 has a clear bra that I am thinking about removing. What is the process and is it something that can be accomplished without damage to the cars finish?

Jerome, Be careful if you are using a commercial type heat gun they really get hot and can damage the paint. Use on the lower setting, If the wife has a hair dryer try that first.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Who made the bra? Contact the manufacturer and see if they provide instructions on how to remove it.

Re: Removal of clear bra material
I used the hair dryer followed by 3M adhesive remover to take care of any residue. Try to pull it off at a +45 degree angle if you can and that will allow it to come off in (hopefully) one piece. Should be no damage to the finish.- Top

Jerry -- your thread would have had many more "views" [and still be technically correct] if your title read "Removal of See-Through Bra".- Top

Re: Removal of clear bra material
I believe that more paint damage occurs because of these bras than is prevented because of them.
My recommendation is to use a properly installed, easily removable type bra STRICTLY for long road trips. Remove the bra immediately when the trip is over and NEVER, EVER allow the bra to remain on the car after it gets wet.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
