Take a few minutes to see what is going to be taking place at the upcoming National Convention. You have plenty of time now to make plans to attend. Registration opens February 1 and you can have everything ready when it opens. Overland Park is just south of I-435 the Kansas City loop. This location is just about 100 miles from the Geographic Center of the continental United States. This is as centrally located as you will likely ever find a National Convention.

Look at all the reasons you should be there not the excuses for missing it.

Go to Google Earth, search for the Sheraton Overland Park KS, look at the large lot to the North of the Convention Center. I was there about three years ago for the auctioneers convention, parking will not be a problem if everyone brought two trailers.

Don't mean to UA6 anyone (little NCRS 'alarm' humor there), but the Sheraton (host hotel) block of rooms is going fast if not totally booked. Last week the agent said there was only one more room available while I was booking mine. She did mention something about possibly releasing more rooms later, but I'm not exactly sure if that was certain. Amazing, since the block of reservations only opened up on Jan 5th, I think.

Can't wait for KC!

What the heck!!!! Thought registration did not start until Feb 1st. Poor communication regarding hotel booking for people who are new and don't know what's going on!

Yes, this is one of the NCRS "experience" factors you have to find out on your own. This happens at all Nationals and some larger regionals. You have to make hotel reservations long before registration opens. Same goes for most larger car club meets, like MCA, SAAC, Mopar Nationals, and TeamShelby events.

Got my room today. God willing, Kansas City here we come. They charged me $129.00 per day (NCRS rate). Does that sound correct?

I was able to book at the Hilton Garden Inn next door to convention center

looking forward to my first NCRS event and driving my car there from Oklahoma. Me and a buddy will hit the road!!!!

Sounds right for the block rate Ed, but you might check into any other discounds you're elegible for like AAA, etc. I got a discount for active military that was better than the NCRS block rate, for example.
