Restoring a 61 corvette and installing deluxe door panels and was wondering what size hole I need to make for the window crank? Does it have to be a particular size or just big enough not to bind the crank? I'm planning on using a chassis punch to cut through the aluminum panel.

Re: Hole size in door panel
Roger I purchased new arm rests, the car I'm doing sat since 1983 and the mold was so bad in all the interior that I scrapped it all. I don't know of a how to video but if you google it someone on u-tube or the internet will probably show you how to do it. I have had good luck asking questions on here, there are lot of people who has experience restoring old corvettes. This is my first solid axle car, I've done several mid years. Good luck- Top

Re: Hole size in door panel
The 1st thing I did was make a template using cardboard (that way I knew exactly were to cut the hole for the window crank)
I also used a chassis hole punch for my 58 door panels. Starting out with a 1/2 Die to a 1" Die then steped it up to a 1-1/4
perfect !
