Any recommendations for Windshield installation Central Coast, Bay Area of California?
Need to remove and replace on 1978 L-82and 2003 Z06
On the 78 need to remove and possibly repair windshield frame, which means I need someone who will remove it and then at a later date install.

Hi Scott, sorry about the late response. I too have been looking for a good Corvette specialty shop in the SF Bay Area. Over the last two years I found three that you might look at. I haven't had any work done at these shops so I can't vouch for them but Corvette specialists seem to be in short supply in this part of California. If they can't do the work they might know someone who can.

No Corvette shops in the Santa Cruz area? I beg to differ. There's Joe Calcagno in Soquel. He can be reached at www.rarecorvettes.com or (831) 475-4442. However, Joe specializes in C1 Corvettes only as far as I know. But, as far as C1 Corvettes go, he's one of the best in the whole country.

I'll add another two in Livermore, CA and Hayward, CA:

However, I don't know that most Corvette shops actually do windshield work. I think I would more look to a windshield specialist and, hopefully, one that has some experience with Corvettes. Some of the local Corvette shops may be able to advise you of ones in their area. With windshield work, you want someone that does this kind of work day-in-and-day-out. Many windshield specialists will come to your home or business to do replacements.

I live in Sunnyvale, which is very close to both San Jose and Mt. View. To the best of my knowledge, Corvette Connection only sells new parts, as well as a few used parts, but they don't do any whole car restoration work. Dave Herlinger in Mt. View has repaired and restored C1, C2 and C3 Corvettes for more than 30 years. He got my '66 road-worthy when I first bought it, before I decided to do my own slow-motion body-off restoration. Dave runs a one-man shop, so I don't know if he would do a windshield by himself, but it he can't, he would be able to tell you who to trust.
