    65 fuelie at Barrett Jackson

The BJ Scottsdale auction has a listing for a 65 convertible, L84, black exterior, silver interior. Anyone know this car?

    Thanks,
    Mike

Loren, do you know the car?
        March 65 car I believe.
Michael have you contacted Jim Gessner. He has a rather complete list of most 65 Fuel cars.

I haven't talked to Jim yet. If anyone has his number, please send me a PM with it.

This sounds like a 1965 fuel injected Corvette that I purchased in the spring of 1979(?) from a fellow in Huntsville,AL. It was black with silver vinyl interior with original knock-off wheels and side exhaust(added as it was too early for side exhaust). As I recall at the time it had a white convertible top and no hardtop. It was a 4-speed with 4:11(?) posi rear axle. It was a real 1965 FI with original engine and matching numbers and original "380" unit with matching serial number. It has some minor body damage on the front that had been repaired. I met the fellow at the Ramada Inn at Conway,AR(it was about half way between Huntsville,AL and Bartlesville,OK). I had a 1967 Corvette 435/427 Marina Blue coupe with 20k miles on my car hauler so I had my wife, Carolyn, drive the 1965 FI back to Oklahoma for me. She had a blast driving it! I sold it to a fellow in Houston,TX named John Neighbor. I probably have some pictures and paperwork in my files somewhere.

You description fits pretty well, but the car doesn't have side exhausts now. The description says it has a new exhaust system. Thanks, Bill.

The car listed at Barrett is not the same car that Bill Mock owned. Should be interesting to see how it does.

                    Steve,
Why do you say that this "is not the same car that Bill Mock owned"? When I read the post the serial #08190 and color combination is what caught my attention. I've had many Corvettes(1,000's) since 1971 and have a file folder on each Corvette with copies of titles, pictures, etc. If I can figure out for sure when I had it, I will have the file on it.

Bill, I should have given more detail on my first post. A friend of mine owns the car that you had and I asked him if he was bringing the car to Barrett Jackson. He said that this is another car but will be watching this one to see what it brings. Regards, Steve

                        Steve,
It sure sounded like my old car! Can you email me at williamhmock@aol.com or call me at (918)333-0748 with info on my old car or have your friend contact me?
                        Thanks.
