I dropped in there last year and the shop and cars were top notch and looked amazing . They look like they know what they are doing...The owners name is Dick Ferrando... price is something else??

Chris, I have not used all of the vendors mentioned in this forum. Word of mouth from others is a big help in making an informed decision as to trusting a rare part with them. This means not only people who have had good experiences but also those that have not. Being able to discuss this on this forum used to be a great asset to those of us who use these vendors from time to time.

We have one over zealous moderator and I can appreciate your hesitancy to say anything. If you don't wish to share this with the forum, could you PM me about your experience, or just e-mail those of us who are interested.

            Thanks, Paul

Paul - thank you for you candid response
I try not to bad mouth any one or their work as I am now doing restorations myself
              BUT
If I was talking to a customer and they brought up D&A - I would say BUYER BEWARE / Caveat emptor
and I know I am not the only person
I will never ever do business with Dick. EVER.
If your looking for a shop to restore your car - keep shopping would be my advice.
              There are other good shops

                Re: D&A restoration

I highly recommend D&A Corvette. Personally I have worked for Mr.F (Ferrando) since 1989 or 1990. He gives me one instruction. Do the job soup to nuts. And so I do and have never had an issue with Dick or his business. I have seen him perform miracles on junk that customers give him. If you have to build the car from the bird cage like he does sometimes sure it's expensive.
By the way. He paints every Corvette himself & may also be able to paint your car with lacquer. John

                  Re: D&A restoration

I think that if you find a Corvette restoration shop outside the big cities & on the coasts you can get the same quality work at considerably less money. D&B Corvette restoration in NE Ohio dose 99% NCRS restorations. Reasonable hourly rate & only charges for work done & no phantom billing. Also Your Corvette will be done when he says it will & not drag out for months & even years as some people have told me horror stories about. Friend in CA. had a Corvette in a shop for 2 years had to get it back with 1/2 the parts missing & another guy went to a shop & his Corvette was setting outside in the weather. GOOD LUCK it's a long frustrating/expensive journey no matter who you use.
