1970 LT1 alternator 1100884, is this correct, with ford pully?

Just found another alternator, is this the correct pully?

I have attached pictures of what I believe is the correct alternator for a 1970 LT1, but the ford pulley confuses me?

Bill, I looked at the JM for 70/72 it states the NT code is for the 70 LT1 engine and for a A/C corvette also. as for the pulley it is generally a stamped steel pulley. As far as the ford part no. that is something I have never seen and suspect that it was installed possibly by a rebuilder at some point in its life.

The pulley for an LT-1 should be made from a solid block machine cut and silver plated single belt groove not stamped steel. Also check the rear case and see if the are I think 7 cooling fins built into the case.

This is absolutely not a correct pulley. Not only does it have a Ford part number but it's a 2 groove pulley and NO 2 groove alternator pulley was EVER used on ANY 1962-82 Corvette.

As Paul mentions, please post a photo of the rear case and we'll be able to tell you if the alternator is completely correct.

Addendum: This is what a correct rear alternator case for your application looks like:

          Bill,

The pulley stamped "C9AF-10A 352-B" was first issued by Ford in 1969 ("C9" = 1969). The pulley appears to be correct for a 1969-1970 Mustang based on searching the web.

Joe, Picture of the back side, looks to be correct for a 1970 LT1 or with A/C? But remove pulley

              William------

Yes, it's correct. So, you have a complete, very-difficult-to-find alternator with an incorrect pulley. That's a lot better than having an incorrect alternator with a correct pulley. In this case, the pulley is, by far, the easy part to obtain.
