    A very thankful Corvette Christmas

For many reasons I am very thankful this Christmas. Due to a recent move I stored my Corvettes offsite temporarily. When the ice storms came to North Texas the structure where my Corvettes were stored got 3.5" of ice on the roof and collapsed per the onsite storage manager. One of my cars had a 3' tall nearly 200' long metal truss laying 6" parallel to the driver side. None of my cars were touched. The only part of the structure still in tact is where my cars were parked and the office. Others were not so fortunate.

Hope you all had a Very Merry Christmas with no serious incidents (excluding empty wallets.)

    Steve

That is certainly something to be thankful for alright! The Corvette angels were looking after your babies. I was not as fortunate, with the block cracked on my newly acquired car transported from KC with a couple of days below zero, seems the PO forgot about antifreeze in the winter. But not a Corvette, so I have to look for which angles were not doing their job. Merry Xmas.

Know all about empty wallets! Mrs. Claus thought I was way better than I really was and got me a 2011 Z06 with only 4222 miles. Very excited.

STEVE That was a Christmas present for sure. Glad your Cars are OK but it's sad others had damage. You & I lead parallel lives. Years ago I had my 1970 19,000MI LT-1 stored in Holbens garage which used to be the Chrysler dealership in the 1920'S in Downtown Auburn IN. Burn down 2 days after I got the LT-1 out. The cars in the basement were salvageable including Yorders 55 thunderbird. The cars on the main floor were destroyed & that is where mine was.

Ken, was Holben's close to the Ford dealership? I can't recall where it was. Steve
