Here's a partial picture of my '65 396 engine valve cover. The engine was completely assembled and painted with the Hirsh Chevrolet Orange.

That paint looks really nice! not overly glossy. Was that from a rattle can or shot with a gun?

I used the rattle can(s) that I bought from Hirsh, attached are a few more pictures before the body was installed. I've noticed that since the engine has went though several heat cycles that the paint gloss has actually dulled some.

That looks about the same as the Hirsch paint I have. It is very close to the original color and gloss level for big blocks. However, it's way off from the "Chevrolet Orange" used for mid 60's to at least very early 70's Corvette small blocks.
