    Naval Jelly to clean rust off engine pad

    Has anyone used Naval Jelly to remove some rust from the engine pad? Does this have any ill effects of the finish of the pad / broach marks, etc?

      Navel jelly works very well. Just don't use a metal brush. Use a soft bristle brush. It may take a few applications.

          I used it on my 67 L79 motor with Q-tips and had no problems at all. Pad came out looking very nice.
