    Bill, I have vintage 60' plates that I use for display at local car shows however, I have never encountered anyone in Illinois using vintage plates on the road. Do you have any source for this information?

        Richard I cut a article out of the paper when the law was passed I keep it in the glove box . I have had the 62 plates on sense the late 70s . I have only been stopped one time ,the cop just wanted to look at the car . I buy Il. antique plates $25.00 dollars for five years I keep them in the trunk under the mat .

            I know Bill is correct, but I couldn't find an on-line reference at the Illinois SoS site. A visit to an SoS office (after the New Year) should yield an Antique plate booklet with that information that Bill cited in it. I know a couple of guys (non-Corvette) who run YOM tags on their antique cars.
