Hi, on a drive with a little rain I noticed wiper's work very slowly and wont return unless radio and or heat is off. What would boost the vacuum so wiper's work correctly? Thank you, Brad.

Re: 54wiper vac.
radio and heater don't impact the engine vacuum which is what poets the wiper motor. they are usually slow because the seal in the flapper valve isn't sealing properly(either seal shrinks or the pot metal wiper housing warps). i'd look for an now wiper motor. or stay outa the rain. regards,mike- Top

Re: 54wiper vac.
i've disassembled many trico vac wiper moters and used vaseline to coat the seal that is sandwiched between the matal os the flapper alve. sometimes its helped iff the potmetal isn't warped. its a simple job. good luck, mike- Top

Re: 54wiper vac.
I've played with re-sealing these vacuum motors but never had much luck doing so. The seals in the ones I had were too shrunken to respond to any additive I could think of. I ended up sending the motor for my '54 to D&M Restorations in South Carolina and it came back in perfect working order.
