1969 427-435HP with auto. What's the correct lower radiator hose?

I have a 1969 L71 427-453HP with auto trans. I'm need to know what's the correct lower radiator hose. The judging manual say 427/435 is a 3947868 or a 427 with HD and auto is 3946012. Is mine a HD or not? I have a hose #3947868 and it doesn't look like it will mount up to the radiator correctly. Thanks for any info. Jeff

If you have an L-71 then it's NOT HD (heavy duty). HD refers to the L-88 or ZL-1. The L-88 and ZL-1 did use hose GM #3946012 but only if equipped with 4 speed transmission. If equipped with THM-400, then they used the same hose as all other 1969 427's. That hose is GM #3947868.
