    '60 grill tooth bar install

I am trying to re-install the grill tooth bar on my 60 and cannot figure out how to get behind the bracket in the bar to tighten up the bolts. Need help.

    Steve,

Remove 1 tooth near each end, and you will be able to reach in and get to the end bolts. Dan

      Dan,

The mounting plates on by cross bar have a curved up end that prevents me from getting to the head of the bolts. No way to get a wrench in there to hold the head of the bolt. My fingers won't even bend the right way to get to the bolts. Have I got some oddball cross bar?

        Steve,

There should be a flat plate on each end of the grill bar that connects it to the bumper on each side with 2 nuts to the bumper studs and 2 nuts to the studs in the back of the bar. It's illustrated in the AIM in Sect. 13 (of my 59 manual) on sheet 2. The 60 AIM should be very similar. If we are talking about the same thing, then it's a STRAIGHT plate on both sides, that may be the problem. Sounds like Bubba might have made some custom parts previously. Dan

          Dan,

I think you have hit upon my problem. There are no studs in my grill bar or in my bumper. I will check them tomorrow to see if I can find out why.
