I was going through a episode of Route 66 season one 'To walk a serpent." In that episode Tod and Buzz drive a solid lifter 61 Corvette. You can hear it when they start the car up. There is a small chase scene (Worth Watching if you have it ) where you see the interior of the car. In the center of the dash under the mirror is a black handle. At first I thought it was to move the review mirror but then realized its stationary. Anyone have a clue as to what it is. The episode is on utube.

That must be it. That is how you can hear them when the talked while driving. If anyones C1 had a strange hole in that place in their dash you maybe have and extra special C1 that was driven on the set. I bet those cars are still out there somewhere.- Top

You need to understand that in Boston traffic signs are seen merely as suggestions.- Top

Re: Route 66 To walk the Serpent
there is a "key hole" cut under the dash in that position for the power convertable top switch if car is so equipted with that option....if you do not have that hole in a replacement dash, you get a point deduct at judging- Top

Re: Route 66 To walk the Serpent
There are no traffic patterns in Boston. It's a place where the streets in the downtown area follow the original paths used to bring the animals to the Commons for grazing. Pretty much the same today.- Top

Re: Route 66 To walk the Serpent
Either way the streets are shut down for filming. I'm just wondering if Martin Milner is really driving during the chase when the Corvette fishtails on the turn. Wonder if that would of happened in a C2 at the same speed with the independent suspension ?- Top
