I want to repaint the inside of my glove box door. Should everything be painted blacked including the inside chrome edge around the door perimeter?

Re: C2 Glove Box Painting
By everything the back panel, the lower section of the chrome limit arms, and up to about 1/16" of door perimeter chrome. Painted as an assembly is typical.- Top

Ralphie,
Here's a picture of my 67 glove box back, untouched since the factory (but a little worn and dirty):
Note that the decal is incorrect for my very late 67 (22049), but that's the way it came.
Here it is masked to be painted:
I could not find a repro decal with the correct fonts, so I preserved my original decal by masking it. Although you can't see it in the picture, I crossed out the factory tire pressure on the decal, and put the correct tire pressure for Michelin X's, when I trashed the original tires in 1969 (all five). I have lots of memories in this car. Next time I see you, I'll tell you the funny story of why I trashed the original tires in 1969 (in Norfolk, VA).
I'll eat the condition or incorrect points on the decal, because I know it came with the car.
I used that SEM's Trim Black (I forget the number), it came out great.
Hope to see you again, have fun,Jerry Fuccillo

Thanks for the pictures, My door looks the same. The chrome edge around the perimeter edge has some paint on it. But basically the entire door appears to have been painted black. I thought maybe someone along the way had painted it. Going to save my decal as well. Has some scratches but it is original.
Are you going to NCRS Kissimmee? We need to catch up.- Top

Jerry,
For someone who is skilled with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, I don't see why one couldn't take a high quality digital image of an original label and use it as a template to recreate the label using existing Abode or custom-made fonts, letters and numbers. Then print the result on a color printer. The hard part might be finding an adequate match to paper or label material in terms of texture, thickness and sheen. But the font stuff is very doable by someone who is willing to pay sufficient attention to detail.

Not this year for Kissimmee. My wife has me scheduled for the Westminster dog show and partying in NYC (my hometown). Flying in from CA with a group. A friend of ours has a Corgi (the Corvette of dogs) entered.
Maybe we will catch up next year or at another event.Jerry Fuccillo
