Glad it worked out well for you. There should be a "sticky" on the TDB about the Vehicle Information Packages that can be downloaded from the GM Heritage Web sit. Hint! Hint!

Something similar to that happened to me. There was some other PDF program on my computer. Some how I opened a PDF file with it and it took over all of those similar files. I to had a very difficult time uninstalling that program.

Yea Roger, this thing automatically put me into the 'Ask' search engine as well. It took several changes back to Google to get rid of it. This whole thing was kinda like like a virus. Like I said, I had to re-boot in order to make it go away. But the good thing is it is gone.

          Dan,

Suggest you download the free versions and run both MalwareBytes http://www.superantispyware.com/ and SuperAntiSpyware http://www.superantispyware.com/

You'd be surprised at the "hanger on" trash that those DH's install.

Hi Gary, I'm sure there are some cookies or other junk still on my machine like you say.

About a month ago I picked up a virus and my machine had to go into the shop to be cleaned. I had both Norton and MalwareBites on my computer, and this virus went right by both of them like they weren't even there. I realize that some viruses can be very difficult to detect, but the shop suggested that I use SOPHOS. Apparently many large US corporations use this program, but the benefit to me is their guarantee. If you ever pick up a virus they will pay to have it removed, even if it has to go into the shop. The problem with it is it's not compatible with either Norton or MalwareBites, so I had to remove both.

Right now I have Adobe working and printing, and bogus 1 PDF is out-of-here -removed - gone. But what else it did do is it made 'Ask' my default search engine. I can get around it and still use Google, but I have not figured out how to not make it the default.

Computers can be a challenge, at least for me. Appreciate your suggestion.

            -Dan-

After seeing Gary's info, I bet that's where Alan Colvin got the info for the article.

I agree. Both this page and the distributor article list a 971 dist for a 70 LT-1 and a 491 dist for a 70 L-46 with TI. My 70 LT-1 came with a 491 dist and that agrees with the GM heritage info. Was there a running change?

No Patrick, no running change for 1970 LT! distributor. Every one I have ever seen has a 491 distributor band, and I have seen a lot of them. I suspect a mistake was made and the article copied that mistake.

I agree with your suspicions Terry. That's exactly why documents like this have to be carefully taken in and not necessarily gospel, and the fact that even GM or Delco or Chevrolet data pages can have errors in them. After all, humans created the pages and well, you know........

                    Rich
p.s. even though it may have a few errors it sure is a nice reference and took a substantial effort to create.
