    Engine rebuilder recommendation in CT

    Hello,

I am looking to have the engine rebuilt for my 71 LT1. Can anyone recommend a good engine rebuilder in CT.
    Thank You

I have used Bill Carlquist at Carlquist Competition engines outside of Waterbury. Mine was more of a performance build but I know he does resto work too. A great guy and he built me a terrific, reliable and powerful engine. Tell him I sent you.Bill

I would ask Ron Goduti, Sal Carbone and also Ray Zisa for their recommendations. Each can be contacted thru the members list on this board, they all live in CT and all have interest in the LT-1 engine.

I would recommend Carlquist as well. Billy is the man. You can tell him I sent you if you like.

I also replied to your thread at that "other" forum
Joe Lapine at Danbury Competition Engines did my 72 LT-1 engine back in 2005, it still runs Great !!
Also, don't forget what I said about the decking of the engine block.....DON'T do it, it's seldom necessary and the all important numbers will be lost.
            Regards
            Roy

If you PM me I'll tell who NOT to use here in CT. I had to bring him to court. The guy I did use was Pete Chillemi in North Haven. Pete did the machine work on my block, I assembled it. I'm not sure if he is still in business though. He went by Eastcoast Performance. Who ever you use you better check them out real good, I've seen some bad ones here over the years. What part of the state are you in?

Pete,Try Eastwood's Auto Machine in Somersville, or Somers CT. I've had a couple of midyear motors done and I'm satisfied. Mike and Mark are good guys.Jerry
