Hello-Just bought a fully restored 1964 roadster and the stamp says the interior trim should be 490DB. I cannot locate this trim code anywhere, but I have heard that it should be a silver vinyl trim with silver interior. Is this correct? Where would this information be found/confirmed? Also, is this trim (combined with Daytona blue) rare? Thanks!Jennifer

Re: 1964 Roadster with mysterious trim stamp
Hi Jennifer
welcome to the club and to the tech discussion board. That Trim code is no mystery. It is listed in NCRS Authentication Library Vol 1 for 63-67 Corvette Trim Tags. The code is listed on Page 30 under Vinyl Interior Trim Codes for 1964, and confirms that 490 is Silver Vinyl, and ECL (Exception Control Letter) DB indicates Convertible and excludes A31 Power Windows, and M35 Powerglide. The code was available throughout 1964 production. Your silver "trim" is your silver interior, which was available with Daytona Blue paint. No way to know how many 1964 cars were produced in that combo. I would think relatively few.
note: the Trim Tags book is available from the NCRS store at the NCRS shop button above.

Re: 1964 Roadster with mysterious trim stamp
Welcome Jennifer. Since '64 I have seen two convertibles, one a 365 HP hard top only and the other two tops with white soft top, and three coupes, a 300 HP, a 365 HP and a FI. It is a good looking combination. Steve- Top

Re: 1964 Roadster with mysterious trim stamp
I too knew of a 64 Daytona Blue Convertible L-76 with the Silver interior belonging to a fellow in the western suburbs of Chicago. It was, as has been said, a great combination. As mine is a blue/blue 63, we became friends at various shows. He drove his daily, however, so it appeared used - but still nice. Doubt if he ever let go of it because it was a real crowd magnet.
