Trans has 115k miles so I expected wear. Trans leaked but shifted okay. Still may decide to do a complete rebuild given the mileage. Just need to find a shop that actually does the work in house that is reputable and reasonable in MD or No. VA.

    Thanks,

    Bill,

If you want to go the tranny rebuild route, Ed Hartnett is highly respected and "somewhat" close to you (I think). His contact info is:

    Hartnett Ed 4 Speeds
    242 Pembroke Ave
    Lansdowne PA 19050
    (610) 623-9381

Dick, that CR# shows pictures of a rear seal and a sleeve for the yoke where the seal rides but the wear is not where the seal rides it is where thebushing contacts the yoke and is usually 1-2" of wear area. Hope there is a repair sleeve for the yoke. I have lots that need one. Scott

The price quoted was around $250, which I felt was a bit high. I ended up purchasing a repro slip yoke from America's Finest Corvettes for about a hundred bucks less. I was told that the rockwell hardness of the repro slip yoke was much harder than the original factory slip yoke. The Muncie was rebuilt, new rear bushing included.
        John,

When you compared the two did you detect any obvious differences? I may have found an NOS yoke but it will not be cheap.

          Bill ..
It's been more than a few years since the slip yoke was replaced. As best as I can remember a critical eye of the original and repro slip yokes showed they were very similar in appearance to each other. The repro slip yoke was of very good quality, IMO.

AFC seems to be big on 'exact repro' or 'NCRS correct'. Perhaps their slip yokes are exact repros now. .. Might check with them.
