    Horn Adjustment screw tool?

Is there a tool that anyone makes to fit the tone adjustment screws. In my case it is a 66. I finally got the screws to break loose using a vice grip. The screws are very stiff and I have used to penetrating oil, but they are still very stiff. I don't want to break anything.

    Thanks,

    Don

My question exactly. I'm rebuilding my 66 horns, they are flat, clean and in primer but that adjustment screw has a strange head that I can't name, and therefore I can't search for the proper tool. They are in such nice shape I hate to take a pair of vice grips to them. And vice grips aren't my style.

Does anyone know what those screw heads are called and where a tool for adjusting them can be found?

    Thanks,

    John

been a while since I looked at it but if you try some 12 point sockets of different sizes I am sure you will find one that fits

The screw is seven point but I just tried a 1/4" 12 point socket. It barely fits over to the screw flange, but it turns if you push hard. I then tried my 12 pt tuneup 1/4" 12 pt and combination wrenches and those worked too.

Thanks guys. Those things hadn't moved in 50 years and I was unable to persuade them with a 12 point socket or wrench. I carefully used vice grips and they survived with only slight marks that I think the final painting will hide.
