1963 Instrument Colors - Bright and Unfaded

I recently purchased an instrument cluster from a 1963 Corvette that was wrecked in 1965. The owner removed the cluster in 1965, put it on a shelf face down, and left it there for 48 years. I thought I'd share a photograph of the gauges (my cluster) simply because the colors are so bright and vivid. I hope this helps someone interested in unfaded gauge colors. Cheers.

Very nice. This shows how important correct storage is.

I would note that the tach cone has yellowed, usually from cigarette smoke. Why would you use rusty screws to hold in the cluster?

I am betting thats the lighting showing the yellow, and the screws were a brownish plating.

I have been told that mine looks exceptional as well, and the gauges are original and unrestored. Although I now have a bit over 46k on the ticker, much of the mileage was put on in the first few years (30k+) and the car spent a number of years in storage. Since coming out in 1976, much of the driving has been to cruises at night (specially the last 10 years here in Florida). It only rarely goes to a day time show so it has not seen all that much sun. Something like the effects on us humans.
