    C1 rear spring arch height

I tagged this onto another post about rear springs, but thought it may be best to start a new thread...........

Does anyone have a reference measurement I can use to tell if the springs I just picked up are "saggy"? If I were to lay them on the floor, eyelets on the ground, arch up and measured from the ground to the top of the arch, what should I measure?

Right now I measure 6" from the floor to the top of the arch. These springs have no liners between the leafs (why, I have no idea) so with liners it may be closer to 6.25".

    Am I saggy??

Re: C1 rear spring arch height

since i didn't have the specs you are looking for, when i restored all my c-1's, i installed the springs then decided if the rear of the c-1 was too low. then i removed the springs and took them to a buddy who re-archs springs. we guessed at how much to arch them--if i recall, it amounted to about 1 1/2" difference. then i'd re-install the springs and reevaluate. its a time consuming chore but beats getting a deduct or failing a PV. mike
