    K-O hammer-- where's it go?

'66 L79 'Vert #1241-- Was missing K-O hammer (actually have repro BOKO's, but I guess if you maintain the illusion of having real K-O's they expect the hammer). I have no reference-- does the hammer just lay in back of the jack in the rear compartment, or, does it bolt down somehow?

    thanks

For the money people wantto pay for it, I guess it would go to e-Bay (sorry I could not resist and I do not know the true answer to your question )

It's also in your AIM - wraps in with jack spring. Research to assure you have correct hammer, two flavors exist, 3859067 & 3871308
Believe you need the 2nd design 3871308, see Nolands Book for details, but check

i bought 6 K/O hammers over the chevy counter in the early 80's. if Noland's description is correct, and i believe the GM drawings confirm such, then i find it interesting that the hammers i got from chevy 30+ years ago more closely resemble the first design hammer than they do the second design. these old hammers have FOUR holes drilled in their handle as opposed to the PAIR of holes drilled in the 2nd design hammer handle. mike.

The other tell-tail difference is that the lead head is welded on the first design, 3859067, while not on 3871308.
(prints on page 300 of Nolands Book) For more detail see the "Similar Threads" below.
