convertible top center windshield trim removal

searching the archives there is a lot of talk about removing the corner
trim/molding pieces but none (maybe i missed something) on removing
    only the center piece.

how is this top center chrome/stainless trim/molding removed?

it's the long flat piece on the top windshield frame. the front of the
    convertible top rests on it.

i took out all the screws. the trim piece moves but i can't get
it out. the left and right edges are somewhat clamped to the corner
trim molds. should i use a bit of force?

    where should i put sealant?

    thanks again for the help

Re: convertible top center windshield trim removal

I have a 70 convertible on which I removed the center piece. If memory serves it will come without removing the corner pieces.

Check your AIM and make sure all the screws are removed. I don't know why but I seem to remember one screw in particular that was difficult to remove with the windshield in place.

Hopefully someone can chime in with a little more info.
