Plastic wiring conduit on bottom of the '64 steeing column

I've been told there was a small, black plastic "conduit" covering the wiring (horn, turn signals) leading from the interior of the steering hub, down along the bottom of the steering column and into the dash panel..... the piece is probably no more than 4-5" in length...... My car didn't have one when I bought it (the wires are exposed) and I can't find the part in the current LIC, Paragon or CC catalogues..... Has anyone had any luck in finding this item......?? Garry,
Don't forget that the conduit (black plastic) has a thumb tack retainer in the lower end. It snaps into the steering column tube.

years ago i was junkarding and found that a 67 pontiac tempest steering col donated the black plastic conduit you're looking for. the thumb tack can be made from the black plastic tie that secures the expansion tank to radiator hose to the right inner skirt on a 64. mike

I was looking at mine, no hole for the thumb tack thingy to snap into in my steering column tube. Are you supposed to drill one?

u sure its a 64 mast jacket? maybe if its an early 64, it could originally be lacking the thumb tack hole. what's your vin? mike

I have some of them from the stock of Corvette steering, if you want to take a look shoot me an email and I'll get them out. If I recall there was one for std & later tele columns. These were the ones supplied to vendors.

Thanks Mike, it is 6556, Dec. 7, 1963 build date. I have the correct conduit, and it has a tab with a hole in the conduit at the end for the thumb tack, but no hole in the steering column for the thumb tack.

These may help; The scale is set at top figures. Top hole is at 11 1/4"

i think i'd drill a hole for the thumb tack because the plastic conduit may move about if not secured. mike

Thanks, mine doesn't have the slotted section, it is just round the whole way. Maybe a replacement?

Well, it is securely stuck to the bottom of the column, maybe with glue? But guess I won't destroy anything with a carefully drilled hole for the tack. Thanks.

Or just cut top of tack off and glue to plastic since mast is a replacement.
