point deduction for "upgrading" to leather?

"66 327-350 vert #1241-- I know that few cars had leather, and that the trim tag designates STD (vinyl) vs. leather. Is there a standard deduction for "upgrading" to leather?

    thanks

From the Judging Reference Manual, which should be in every library:

    7. ALTERED CARS - HORSEPOWER/COLOR/INTERIOR

Change of Interior Color or Fabric: 50% originality deduction on every item affected by the alteration. (An item exhibiting both color and fabric change would receive a 100% deduct for that item.

Without a color change, it should be 12 points for fabric change.

curious why this would not be considered an added option and be subject to a full deduction.

IIRC correctly, my '66 Mosport Green exterior, dark green vinyl interior that was converted to leather got a 50% deduct. The judge also mentioned that he should/could have taken more off, since they didn't make a green leather interior that year.
