    72 EEC valve

Working on a 72, BB, Driver car. Replacing the fuel tank and noticed the EEC valve (sometimes called a Roll Over Valve?) is missing. What does this do and do I need to replace it or just plug the tank outlets? Thanks, Lynn Schwebach

    Re: 72 EEC valve

That line is the vent for the tank, it needs to be vented or fuel will stop flowing once a vacuum habeen created in the tank. You could just connect the line to the charcoal canister directly to the gas tank but the valve really should be there.

On another note, Is this an A/C car by any chance?? I've recently posted a question about some of the wiring without much of an outcome and perhaps you could help. Thanks!!

I'm sure others will chime in on the valve question.

The part of which you inquire is a fuel SEPARATOR. It was used on all 1970 Corvettes with EEC as well as all 1971-74 Corvettes. It was discontinued quite some time ago by GM but is now available in reproduction. I would recommend obtaining one and installing it in the system.

        Thanks Tom,
This an a/c car but I haven't gotten that far regarding the wiring. I have the original wire harness and if you need me to check any of the connections let me know. Lynn Schwebach
