So I'm busy looking for a nice 66 or 67 L79 convertible. Lots of fun reading some of the ads from various dealers. Following is one I came across. Wonder how much more wordy they could get to say its not the original engine.
"This 1967 Corvette roadster is one of those cars that fit just right like your favorite pair of jeans. It packs an L79 350 horsepower 327 V8 and 4-speed manual transmission plus a wonderful patina…………"
(then further down in the ad).
"…….Power comes from a potent and reliable L79 327 which in 1965 was rated at 350 horsepower. Based on a seasoned 1968 block it still cackles and snorts like the original and has that wonderful symphony of mechanical sounds that only a solid lifter car can deliver."
Remember - This is an ad for a 67 L79 with a 68 block and solid lifters.
