I am taking apart my very original 67 and starting restoration. Also have door panels off my 64 to repair door opening mechanisms. The 67 has a white caulk with a string in it around the perimeter of the vapor barrier. I have new paper barriers for the 64 and want to attach with a caulking as close to original as possible. Can anyone recommend a product/source?
Also, the 67 exterior color is Ermine White and the caulk was white. I assume they used white on all cars and didn't match the caulk with the exterior color. What color is appropriate for the 64?
Lastly, on the '67 all openings in the inner fiberglass door skin were covered with a black tape and all screw heads had a black asphalt like caulk covering them. Was the 64 done the same way?
Will appreciate any help/advise, Thanks, Jim B
