85 hatch solenoid availability

Bimetal protection failed. Bypassed it so hatch latch is working without protection. Want to replace it Dealer says it is no longer available. Looking for a source Thanks

The dealer is correct; the solenoid with cable assembly is discontinued, both the original and supercessive part numbers. If you search eBay under GM #14089675 you'll come up with a few used examples. I don't like used for a part like this since you have no way of knowing just how much life is left. But, I suppose it's a situation of "any port in a storm".
