Thinking about the Kansas National next summer, I have been doing some research on the first four 1978 Pace Cars built for the Indy 500 race in May 1978. One of those, at last note, was picked up in an auction by a Kansas Chevy dealer. If I could track down its location, would thoroughly enjoy a side trip to study this particular vehicle.
So, I am looking for some helping in tracking down the Chevy dealer that may have picked up this particular Pace Car. It was built as a mule for the Pace Car program and does not carry a typical Pace Car VIN...but was identified in a 1978 memo that circulated among Corvette program types. It was labeled a Parade Lap Vehicle with VIN 1Z87H8S400006 and was approved for consignment to U.S.A.C. at the completion of the Indy 500.
Any help appreciated.
