I think his name was George and it was for a 68 BB.

The bracket probably came off of my original 1990 suburban its hell turning 61.

It's just a "seat-of-my-pants" sort of guess but it looks to me like a bracket that's older than 1990's vintage.

              Joe T and Joe L,

I have three of those brackets along with several other upper radiator brackets. The three I have are NOS and one has a partial part number of XX86782. I'm sure this is an upper radiator bracket of the late 60's vintage. Can you do anything with this information?
              Pictures are available if needed.

              Thanks, JR

                  Joe

I was going to offer it to a person in need. Thanks...

I can usually remember parts going back 40 years ago when I removed them..but this one escapes me.

I had a 68 and a 69 big block..now long gone...but I do have a few of the 68 original parts still in the garage. The 68 was a 427/390 that bought from a guy at Lake Of the Ozarks. Drove it home to St.Louis at the time with period style open chrome big block side pipes. Sounded like a monster. The engine had been replaced by GM with a 454.

Years later I had that 454 rebuilt to a more typical high HP 427 type specs and it now sits in a 61 Chevy bubbletop waiting to be finished. Should be an awsome car when done. Will be a plain Jane white car with lettering like the old days. Probably cheater slicks and reverse rims. Maybe tilt front end. Chassis was subframed with a Firebird heavy duty front suspension.

Just tlking about it is exciting

The part number is GM #3786782. It's the radiator support upper bracket applicable to 1961 and 1962 Corvettes.

                      Joe,

Thanks, as they look exactly like the one in Joe T's pic! Was nearly sure that they were for an Aluminum Rad as they had the mount for the rubber cushion and stud.

                      Thanks again,

                      JR

That's interesting. I had a 62 basket case that I bought. The car went off the road and hit a tree in the passenger door, exploding the door and crunching the frame. The body was cut in two through the floor.

I sold the car in pieces to Dale Pearman. If it is the aluminum radiator bracket, it may have been from that car which did have an aluminum radiator.
