1971 Egg Crate Side vent

Hi

I am getting my side vents re painted and I am ok with the vertical and horizontal masking for the fronts but how were they finished behind.

Was it just left as metal ?

or covered in overspray from either the color or engine bay blackening ?

Craig, The back side had just overspray if I remember correctly, no black out.

Inside the crates were not polished and were very rough.
