    Ballast Resistor Picture Needed

    Does anyone have a picture of an original 1.8 ohm balliast resistor for a "64 Corvette equipped with a 327/300?

      Here's another couple of shots; not sure if it would have had the blue markers or black, so unsure of ohm rating. But I believe this is period-correct, with sharp (snipped) contours of the screw tab.

        I have the same one what Wayne has in my original spare parts box that I took off of my '64 because it didn't look so good back in 1979. The current 63/64 TMJG says... "Original resistors have small notches on the outside corners of the attaching tab." Do you agree that the description matches what Wayne's picture shows? If it is I need to try and original resistor since I took a deduct for having a service replacement on my car when it was last judged.

          Yes, although it's not easy to describe - they're actually die cuts created during the progressive-die operation that created the steel band that was later formed around the resistor and spot-welded, and they varied A LOT.
