My '73 L82 (no a/c) heater hose developed a slow leak so I just replaced them. I've looked at a lot of pictures of sb's with a.i.r., including Top Flight cars. Some have the heater hose to intake routed in front of the diverter valve and others behind it, or over the top of the valve cover. The aim is not helpful as it does not show heater hose routing WITH the a.i.r. for '73 or '72.
I believe my old heater hoses were original, no markings, with grooves and original dated tower clamps. The intake heater hose on mine went through the front of the diverter valve, but the new one will bend (and restrict the flow of coolant) if I do this. Perhaps the old one was "formed" or bent at that end?
I've attached some pics with the different variations, the first is an old picture of mine. Can someone tell me which one is correct?
Any opinions are greatly appreciated,
