67 Big Block Water Pump Pulley 3906656

Could someone explain what the fifth edition of the TIM&JG means when it states the following about water pump pulley 3906656: "Current reproductions have a parting line that reflects the area between the belt grooves."

What is a 'parting line'? and what is meant by 'reflects the area between'?

This pulley was on my car when I purchased it, but the TIM&JG doesn't mention the CV' and 'Z' stamping pictured below. Is this correct/original?

    Daniel,
you are not able to see the part numbers when assembled to you can't expect this to be referenced in the JG.

Parting line is a casting or injection term, not really spin forming, but the repro has split pulleys, can't tell with the low rez pic if yours is or not for sure.

      Daniel,

A parting line would be a raised line in a casting. It would make it appear sort of like the two halves were welded together along the parting line.

Thanks for the explanation. Here are two additional photos (I hope these are better):

Thanks, the pulley looks to be one piece. The two grooves of the pulley transition smoothly with each other on the outside and inside (from what I can feel with my fingers)

            All,

Should the inside of a 3906656 look similar to the picture posted by Mr. MidKiff response #2 here: https://www.forums.ncrs.org/showthre...er-pump-pulley

OR should it be the reverse of the outside pulley grooves?

I am still unsure on this detail.

            TIA
            Daniel
