    C2 Small Block Fan Blade

I found reference to the GM part number 3770529 is still available, and I found it on the GM Parts Direct web site. This part number is referenced in the TIM&JG as being the correct blade for 66 small block and that the correct fan has an H stamped on the front and a W stamped on the back of one of the arms.

Does anyone know of the current version sold by GM has the H and W stampings.

    Thanks,

    Don Harris

I don't know if they do, or not. However, I don't see what difference it makes since the stampings cannot be seen with the fan mounted on the engine.

No stampings just a painted on "H" and a painted green "dot" . See this post from 10/18/13 . I posted some photos and you can see the markings.

Did yours have the W stamped into the back side of one of the blades?

I may just leave what I have alone. I just went out and took a couple of pictures. The first shows the backside with the W that I stamped and the second show the front with the flat rivets. Mine does match the TIM&JG description, but I'm pretty sure it is a replacement.

I just double checked the fan. There are no stampings anywhere on the fan just the painted on markings. I never had the original fan so I can't provide any info on the factory stampings.

My 1966 Corvette (Feb. 24, 1966) 5-blade fan (17 1/8" dia.) is stamped "H" on the front and "W" on the rear. It was attached to a Schwitzer fan clutch stamped "SC 1-26-66" (Jan. 26, 1966).
