    1954 Carter YH leak-down

I'm sure this question has been asked and answered many times in the past, but searching the posts, I can't find any reference.
Question is, "Why do the YH carburetor fuel bowls on my 1954 leak down after sitting for a week or so?" And where does the fuel go? Also, is there a "fix' for this problem?

    Thanks
    Dave

Fuel is most likely evaporating after the car sits that long

Dave, Dan is likely right, but there is one check you can do, Is after the car is shut down for a few minutes is take a peek into the carb. and look to see if there is anything dripping or fuel vapors hanging around in the lower throttle body area of carb. If you live in a area that has ethanol in the fuel it seems to evaporate quickly after sitting.

Thanks, Dan...guess I should run the car more often, but in the Midwest this time of year with the top stored....it's kinda chilly. I don't like to just start the engine and idle it for a while...I believe it takes 10 miles or so before all the moisture is dried up.

Hi, Ed...The front two are dry after shutdown; the rear did drip a bit. We do have ethanol in the fuel around here. Guess I should drive the car more frequently, but it gets kinda chilly here this time of year Thanks for the info.
