Re: 65 door panels

i used Al Knoch for my 67 door panels. The first set I received were wrong. Because i have an extremely early production 67 convertible the length along the top edge of the panel was carried over from the prior model year. This was something the apparently was not well known. I ended having him use the original metal substrate supports from my original panels which meant sending my panels to him. I asked them to send me back what was left of mine so that I could locate and save a scrap piece of cardboard with the date stamp on it. The date stamp on mine was Sept. 6 1966. Be sure to specify that you want correct fuzzy wipes for your year car(this is the thin bright stainless piece with fuzzy material on it that is stapled to the metal along the top edge of the panel).
Even with using my metal supports and correct fuzzy wipes, the panels required some messaging to get installed. I have heard that having to use some finesse and a little persuasion is not uncommon in the installation process regardless of the supplier. Overall I am very satisfied with the Al Knoch door panels and feel they look very close to my originals. I suppose the ultimate test would be to have the car judged. If you do decide to use Al Knoch, ask for Melanie, I have found her to be very helpful.

Re: 65 door panels
I put Corvette America panels in my 65 coupe. They fit perfectly, just like the originals, especially around the vent window. The above mentioned brand fits like crap around the vent window leaving a big gap.- Top
